Case Study: Full Lower Arch of Implants for a Happy Patient – Dental Perfection Coventry & Kettering
At Dental Perfection, we’re dedicated to helping our patients achieve the smile of their dreams. One of the ways we do this is through dental implants, which offer a permanent and natural-looking solution for missing teeth. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through a dental implant case study that shows the remarkable transformation one of our patients experienced after deciding to go with dental implants instead of dentures.

The Journey Begins: Initial Consultation

Our patient initially came to us seeking dentures for a solution to his missing teeth. During the consultation with our experienced dentist, Johnny, the patient expressed a desire for a more permanent solution. After discussing the advantages of dental implants, such as their durability, comfort, and natural appearance, the patient opted for a full lower arch of implants. This treatment is known as All-on-4 dental implants, where four implants are placed to support a full set of replacement teeth.

Planning and Preparation: Scans and Extractions

Before proceeding with the implants, we needed to gather important information about the patient’s oral health. We performed detailed scans and X-rays to assess the bone levels and determine the best placement for the implants. This is a crucial step in ensuring the implants are placed in the optimal position for long-term success.

During this process, the patient required three extractions, which we performed in our practice. We ensured the patient was as comfortable as possible during the procedure, and after the extractions, we provided a temporary denture so that the patient was never without teeth during the healing process.

Healing Phase: Temporary Dentures and Constant Check-ins

After the extractions, we made sure the patient had time to heal properly before proceeding with the implants. For the next eight weeks, the patient wore the temporary dentures while the extraction sites healed. During this period, we checked in with the patient regularly to ensure everything was progressing well and that the patient was comfortable with their temporary dentures.

Implant Placement: A Smooth Procedure

Once the extraction sites had healed, we scheduled the implant placement surgery. We made sure to choose a date that was most convenient for the patient, working around his working patterns to ensure minimal disruption to his routine. On the scheduled day, we placed four dental implants into the patient’s lower jaw, using the latest technology and techniques to ensure precision and long-lasting results.

After the surgery, the patient wore healing abutments with their temporary dentures, so they were never without teeth during the healing process. We made sure to check in with the patient later the same day to ensure they got home safely. To our delight, the patient reported that they were out shopping at ASDA just a few hours after the procedure! Although they experienced a little swelling, they reported no pain—just some mild discomfort.

Follow-up: Quick Recovery and Excellent Results

The next day, we called the patient again to check on their recovery. They told us they were still a little swollen but experienced only a small amount of discomfort. The patient returned for a review just a week later, and we were pleased to find that everything was healing perfectly.

After the implants had fully healed, we scheduled the final appointment to place the implant-supported bridge. The results were amazing! The patient was thrilled with the outcome and the natural appearance of their new teeth. They were so pleased that they even decided to have their upper arch done with us in the future.

What the Patient Had to Say

Half way there:
Had my first session for implants with dental perfection yesterday. Arrived home with expectations of a sore /painful mouth for about a week. To my surprise I awoke this morning with no pain and only a slight soreness. Got up did my getting up routine and then did laundry and went off to shopping. Really delighted with the care and attention also skill and knowledge of the team.
This was just the first step but feel confident that the rest of the treatment will be just as good.
No hesitation in awarding full marks and a recommendation to Dental perfection for anyone thinking of taking this step.

Part Two.
Now at the end of my second half of my inserts and very pleased to report that agin all went well. No drama no fuss just a first class job. Thanks Dental perfection your 5 star award is well deserved

The Best Fake Teeth: Your Guide to Dental Perfection in Coventry and Kettering

The Best Fake Teeth: Your Guide to Dental Perfection in Coventry and Kettering

    Pexels Shiny Diamond 3762408

When it comes to achieving a radiant, confident smile, having high-quality fake teeth—whether in the form of dentures, dental implants, or veneers—is essential. At Dental Perfection in Coventry and Kettering, we understand that a beautiful smile goes beyond aesthetics; it’s about restoring confidence and functionality to your oral health. In this blog post, we’ll explore the best options for fake teeth and help you make an informed decision about which option is right for you.

Dental implants are one of the best solutions for replacing missing teeth. These titanium posts are surgically placed into the jawbone, serving as a strong, permanent foundation for replacement teeth. The main advantages of dental implants are their durability, comfort, and natural appearance. Once the implant has fused with the bone, a custom-made crown is placed on top, giving you a natural, functional tooth that feels just like your own.

    Why Choose Dental Implants?

    • Long-lasting: With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.
    • Comfortable: Implants are fixed, so you don’t have to worry about them shifting or becoming uncomfortable.
    • Natural look and feel: Since dental implants fuse with your bone, they closely mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth.

Dentures are a popular and cost-effective option for replacing multiple missing teeth. These removable prosthetics come in two forms: full dentures (for people missing all teeth on either the upper or lower jaw) and partial dentures (for people missing a few teeth).

Modern dentures are crafted with high-quality materials that mimic the look and feel of natural teeth, ensuring that they are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

    Why Choose Dentures?

    • Affordable: Dentures are often a more budget-friendly option compared to implants.
    • Easy to adjust: Dentures can be easily modified if needed, and replacements are straightforward.
    • Non-invasive: Unlike dental implants, dentures don’t require surgery

Dental veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite resin that are bonded to the front of your natural teeth. They are an excellent option for individuals who have teeth that are stained, chipped, or misaligned but don’t necessarily want to undergo more invasive treatments like crowns or braces.

While not a full replacement for missing teeth, veneers can significantly improve the appearance of your smile by masking imperfections and creating a uniform, bright, and flawless look.

    Why Choose Veneers?

    • Quick smile transformation: Veneers can drastically improve the look of your teeth in just a few visits.
    • Stain-resistant: Porcelain veneers are highly resistant to staining, making them a great option for people who enjoy coffee or wine.
    • Minimal preparation: Compared to crowns, veneers require little reshaping of your natural teeth.

Dental bridges are another great option for replacing missing teeth. They consist of a false tooth (or teeth) that is anchored to adjacent natural teeth, effectively “bridging” the gap left by a missing tooth.

Dental bridges are a good choice if you are missing one or a few teeth and prefer a non-removable solution. Unlike dentures, bridges are fixed in place, providing a stable, comfortable solution.

    Why Choose Bridges?

    • Reliable: Bridges are sturdy and secure once in place.
    • Restores function: Bridges help restore your ability to bite and chew properly.
    • Aesthetically pleasing: A well-designed bridge can look just like your natural teeth.

Choosing the Right Option for You

At Dental Perfection in Coventry and Kettering, our team of expert dentists will work with you to determine the best option based on your oral health, budget, and aesthetic preferences. Complete Guide to Teeth Replacement Options at Dental Perfection in Coventry and Kettering: Dentures, Implants, and More!
When it comes to replacing missing teeth, choosing the right solution is crucial to restore both your smile and your confidence. At Dental Perfection in Coventry and Kettering, we offer a variety of teeth replacement options, ensuring that every patient finds the solution that fits their needs. Whether you’re considering traditional dentures, implant-retained dentures, or advanced treatments like All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants, our experienced team is here to guide you through the process. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explain each option in detail and help you understand how we can help you achieve a beautiful, functional smile once again.

        Why Teeth Replacement Matters

Missing teeth can affect much more than your smile. They can lead to difficulty eating and speaking, bone loss in the jaw, and a decrease in self-esteem. Fortunately, modern dentistry offers a range of options to replace missing teeth and restore your oral health. At Dental Perfection, we tailor our treatments to meet your unique needs, ensuring a natural-looking and comfortable solution.

        1. Traditional Dentures: The Affordable Option

Dentures are the most traditional method for replacing missing teeth. Made of durable acrylic or a combination of acrylic and metal, dentures are custom-designed to fit comfortably in your mouth and restore the appearance of your smile.

        Benefits of Dentures:

        • Affordable: Dentures are a cost-effective option for patients looking for an economical way to replace multiple teeth.
        • Non-invasive: The procedure for getting dentures is relatively simple and doesn’t require surgery, making it a great option for those who are not candidates for implants.
        • Custom-fit: Dentures are tailored to your mouth to ensure they fit comfortably and look natural.

At Dental Perfection, we offer both partial and full dentures, depending on your needs. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, while full dentures are recommended for those who have lost all of their teeth.

        2. Implant-Retained Dentures: Stability and Comfort

While traditional dentures can restore the look of your smile, they sometimes lack the stability and comfort that many people desire. Implant-retained dentures are a modern alternative that uses dental implants to secure the dentures in place.

        How Implant-Retained Dentures Work:

Dental implants are small titanium posts placed into the jawbone. These posts act as artificial tooth roots, providing a secure foundation for dentures. The implants help prevent slippage and allow the dentures to feel more stable and comfortable than traditional ones.

        Benefits of Implant-Retained Dentures:

        • Improved stability: Implant-retained dentures stay in place, preventing discomfort and embarrassment from slipping or clicking.
        • Bone preservation: The implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss, which is common with traditional dentures.
        • Enhanced chewing and speaking ability: With a secure fit, you can enjoy eating your favorite foods without fear of dentures shifting.

If you’re looking for a solution that combines the aesthetic benefits of dentures with the security of implants, implant-retained dentures are an excellent choice.

        3. Dental Implants: A Permanent Solution

Dental implants are often considered the gold standard in tooth replacement. This solution involves placing titanium posts directly into the jawbone, which fuse with the bone over time in a process called osseointegration. Once the implants have integrated, they provide a permanent foundation for crowns, bridges, or dentures.

        Benefits of Dental Implants:

        • Long-lasting: Dental implants are designed to last for decades, providing a permanent solution for missing teeth.
        • Natural look and feel: Dental implants are custom-designed to match the appearance of your natural teeth, offering a seamless, natural smile.
        • Prevention of bone loss: Unlike traditional dentures, dental implants help preserve the jawbone by stimulating bone growth.
        • Improved function: Implants allow for natural chewing and speaking, making them a highly functional solution for those with missing teeth.

At Dental Perfection, we offer single dental implants as well as implant-supported bridges and dentures, depending on the number of teeth you need to replace.

        4. All-on-4 and All-on-6 Implants: A Full-Arch Solution

For patients with significant tooth loss, the All-on-4 and All-on-6 dental implant systems offer a revolutionary way to replace an entire arch of teeth. These advanced treatments involve placing four or six implants strategically in the jaw to support a full set of teeth.

        How All-on-4/6 Implants Work:

In the All-on-4 or All-on-6 procedure, a series of dental implants are placed in the jawbone, with the ability to support a full set of replacement teeth. The implants are strategically placed to maximize support and minimize the need for bone grafts, which makes the procedure more efficient and less invasive than traditional implant procedures.

Benefits of All-on-4 and All-on-6 Implants:

        • Complete restoration: You can replace an entire set of teeth with just four or six implants, making this a more cost-effective and time-efficient option.
        • Fast recovery: With fewer implants needed and a streamlined procedure, recovery time is often shorter than with traditional implants.
        • Permanent and stable: The implants provide a stable and permanent solution, ensuring that your new teeth stay in place for a lifetime.
        • Natural appearance and function: The full set of teeth will look, feel, and function just like natural teeth, allowing you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

If you’re missing most or all of your teeth, All-on-4 or All-on-6 implants could be the perfect solution to restore both the functionality and aesthetics of your smile.

If you lose a filling completely or you feel a filling becoming loose, please call us immediately on 01536 411150 for Kettering and 02476 220420 for Coventry and ask for an emergency appointment.

What happens when you get fillings?

You may need a filling if you experience decay in a tooth. Our gentle dentist will first give you an anaesthetic to numb the area and then remove the decayed part of your tooth, filling it to protect the tooth, helping it maintain its strength and prevent further problems.

At Dental Perfection in Kettering and Coventry we provide white or tooth-coloured fillings, both for new treatments options and as a replacement for older-style metal (amalgam) fillings.

          White fillings

The fillings we use are known as composite fillings. They are made from a hard, strong and durable resin that your dentist can colour match and mould to the exact shape of your tooth, setting it using a blue light. Composite fillings offer an excellent, discreet solution for minor damage or decay.

          How long do fillings last?

With normal wear and tear – and no toffees! – fillings will last many years.

          Replacing metal or amalgam fillings

If your old dark amalgam fillings are affecting your confidence to smile, the team at Dental Perfection is ready to help.

The latest white fillings are available in a range of colours and translucencies, so your dentist will be able to closely match the colour of your teeth to the new replacement fillings, giving the filling a natural appearance that others are unlikely to notice, so you can feel proud of your teeth once more.

Get in touch to find out more about our composite fillings or book an appointment today.

What Are The Best Fake Teeth?

If you have lost teeth, need a denture or have one that looks false and feel that your smile is now letting you down please talk to us about the different ways we can help boost your confidence.

          Realistic dentures

Old dentures used to be very white, very uniform, very wobbly – and very fake!

There is no substitute for your own teeth for both appearance and function – and making dentures that perform as well and look as good as natural teeth is a tough challenge.

Dentures crafted at our Kettering and Coventry dental practices  will ensure you have an attractive appearance and can eat comfortably and confidently. Good dentures really can improve your quality of life.

The benefits of dentures at Dental Perfection

          • Improved appearance
          • Better chewing function than having missing teeth
          • Improved digestion because your food is properly broken down
          • Cost effective
          • FREE denture consultation to find out what’s possible

          Natural looking dentures

As we get older the colour of our teeth changes and they gradually darken. We offer more natural-looking false teeth, to include tooth shades that look realistic.

Our dentures are made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give your mouth a natural appearance. Your denture will be made to fit snugly on your gums and you will be able to remove it for cleaning.

How much do dentures from Dental Perfection cost?

We offer partial and full dentures and prices start from £300.

          Don’t neglect your gums

It is important that you take extra care in your dental hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. Our hygienist, Caroline, will be able to show you how to best take care of your denture and gums and will tell you about specialised brushes you can use to do this. We will also screen you for mouth cancer for your peace of mind.

          A Guide to Children’s Braces

Orthodontic treatment uses braces or aligners to gently reposition the teeth and braces are ideal for crowded or crossed teeth, gappy smiles and jaws that do not bite together correctly.

Dental Perfection in Coventry and Kettering offers private orthodontic treatments for your child in a calm relaxed environment, with evening and Saturday appointments to fit around your busy schedule.

          Does my child need braces?

There are ways to tell if you think your child needs braces and this includes noticing teeth that are growing in at an angle, teeth that cross over one another, or gaps between their teeth that do not appear to be closing as your child grows.

When should my child see an orthodontist?

Changes to NHS orthodontics treatment means that there can be long waiting lists to see a specialist orthodontist and you may also require a referral from a dentist. If you have any concerns, please book a free orthodontic consultation at Dental Perfection to get advice from our dentists. We are happy to see our younger patients privately for orthodontics – where there is no waiting list for treatment.

At What age can my child have braces?

We offer a range of orthodontic treatments for children and teenagers, as well as early intervention orthodontics for children as young as five years old. Each child is treated as an individual and please rest assured that we will avoid extracting any of their teeth wherever possible, instead we aim to take advantage of their natural growth. We carry out an in-depth assessment and focus on achieving a great smile, not just a functional bite.

You are welcome to choose from our full range of orthodontic and teeth straightening options, which include removable expanders, fixed braces or invisible aligners. We can guide you and help you choose what is best for your child.

How long does an orthodontic treatment last for?

Each child is different, so it is difficult to provide exact time frames, however, the average time for children’s orthodontic treatment is about 12 months.

What is the price for an orthodontic treatment?

Again, the price will be determined for your child’s unique needs. Orthodontic treatment at Dental Perfection starts from £37.80 a week. We will provide an exact cost following their orthodontic assessment and offer interest free finance and low interest finance options to help spread the cost.

What is the difference between NHS and private orthodontic treatments?

Orthodontic treatment is available on the NHS however there are strict government criteria for this. Guidelines state that patients must be under 18 years old and braces can only be fitted for health, not cosmetic reasons. Young people with severe crowding, protruding or buried teeth may be eligible.

The criteria is outlined in the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Needs (IOTN) which gives each patient a score as to the severity of their orthodontic problems. They must achieve a certain score to qualify for NHS treatment.

The benefits of private orthodontics treatments:

          • No restrictions
          • No waiting list
          • A wider choice of braces
          • A greater choice of treatment times including evenings and Saturdays

All-on-4 Implants: The Modern Solution to Replacing Missing Teeth

“If you have lost all of your teeth, unsecured, traditional dentures are an option, which in many cases, have limited success”, says Kettering and Coventry implant dentist Pramod Sabharwal from Dental Perfection.

Some people find dentures painful, inconvenient and unstable at times. They can make chewing certain foods difficult and dentures that do not fit properly can cause embarrassment, especially in social situations.

Modern dentistry has another solution to replacing missing teeth – All-on-4 implants. Implant dentist Pramod Sabharwal has years of experience in using the All-on-4 technique at Dental Perfection, which has practices in Coventry and Kettering

Dental Perfection dental practice is proud to offer life changing advanced dentistry treatments and implant treatments to patients from across Coventry and Northamptonshire who have been unable to keep their teeth and who can’t tolerate dentures.

          How do All-on-4 implants work?

The All-on-4 treatment concept replaces your missing teeth with a full dental bridge supported by only four dental implants. With fewer implants needed, overall treatment time is reduced. This solution also ensures greater stability in the bone, reducing the need for bone graft surgery to increase bone volume.

We can typically place temporary provisional teeth on the same day as your treatment. These provisional teeth look and feel much like natural teeth, allowing you to lead a normal life immediately after surgery.

After a few weeks of healing time, Dr Sabharwal will place your final bridge. Your quality of life is improved and you can start enjoying your favourite foods again and socialising with greater confidence in your teeth.

The advantages of the All-on-4 implants technique

          • A cost-effective solution. With only four implants required for each jaw, the cost is lowered.
          • Faster treatment and healing time.  Your replacement teeth can be attached to your implants immediately after insertion – there’s no need to wait.
          • Flexible options. You can choose a fixed or removable denture that’s best for you and your lifestyle.
          • Scientifically proven. The special tilting of the implants has been used for more than a decade with favourable results and the All-on-4 technique is backed by good clinical outcomes from scientific studies.

How much do All-on-4 implants cost?

Everyone is different. As a result, the cost of the implant procedure and preparation of the tooth replacement will differ as well. For this reason, it is not possible to give an all-inclusive cost estimate – you are welcome to join us for a free implant consultation to find out more. Prices start from £37.80 a month.

How long do All on 4 implants last?

With proper care and regular dental health examinations, your implants can last many years. Many patients have had implants for 15 years and longer. The likelihood of an implant still being fully functional after ten years is greater than 90%.

          Other dental implants FAQs

          What is an implant?

Dental implants serve as artificial roots, firmly anchored into the jawbone, that support removable or fixed tooth replacements.
